Award-winning Playwright!
My first acting role was as the son of Tessie Hutchinson in an adaptation of Shirley Jackson's The Lottery in junior high school - no lines, but I stoned my mother character.
In my 30's I joined a dance ensemble. We performed at conferences, churches, & weddings. I choreographed & performed 2 wedding pas de deux dances.
I retired from a legal career in 2020. Classes, primarily at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, and private voice lessons, led me to acting in community theatre beginning July 2020.
The first play I authored, A Manny for Us (©2023), about a senior gay couple looking to hire a live-in helper (a male nanny = "manny") was produced locally in 2024.
A short, 10-minute play I wrote, Justice is Served (©2024), about 2 "Karens" getting what they deserved, won BEST SCRIPT at the DROP YOUR SHORTS in 2026.

Justice is Served
I won BEST SCRIPT at the DROP YOUR SHORTS competition. Seven short comedic plays (10 minutes or less) were selected as finalists and presented at Meow Wolf, Denver,
on March 10, 2026. Denver area playwrights, directors, and other theatre professions selected the winning script.
Synopsis: Two “Karens” meet weekly in a little coffee shop to complain about everyone & everything - making life hell for the barista. It highlights the ridiculousness of their self-absorption & suggests a possible “just” reward.

Did you see THE IRISH CURSE? If not, you missed out. On January 28, 2024, it was named by OnStage Colorado as one of the Best Comedies of 2023 in their listing of 2023 Awards of Theatrical Excellence. I was also nominated for best supporting actor for my role as Father Kevin by 2023 Broadway World Awards- Denver. (The entire cast was deserving, in my opinion).
